Lamb from New Zealand and in particular, Canterbury needs little introduction. Any menu in the world has lamb as a staple product and at High Peak we excel in lamb production. Our sheep breed is the Perendale, an easy-care breed whose strengths include effortless lambing, good mothering and survival, plus excellent fertility with low losses at lambing. The lambs are easily finished to produce a lean, heavyweight carcass ideal for the discerning palate.
Perendale’s are ideally suited to High Peak with its mix of contour, altitude and rainfall, but more importantly for the breed’s ability to deliver consistent high quality lean lamb.
The easily fattened lambs are without rival for leanness of meat, this is very important in the modern health conscious world.
Lambs are grown to individual needs with carcase size and cuts being customised to the individual. Seasonal milk fed lambs are also a highly prized delicacy.
